W&W 1.jpg

Wild and Woolly is a wool shop in the heart of Hackney selling yarn, tools and running knitting classes. It is a place to learn, get advice, be inspired and gain support for new creative projects with yarn.

My Role | Interior, Website & Service Designer

I partnered with the founder of Wild & Woolly, Anna Feldman and designer Raquel Damas to develop a user experience strategy, service design and deliver touch points to support the launch of the buisness. This involved the design and furnishing for the shop, a design system for the website and working with designer Raquel Damas who developed the brand mark and stationery.

Interior Design & Furniture | Sales & Events

The aim of the buisness was to retail yarn, knitting tools, books, classes and knitting events. A major challnge was that the shop interior was very small so effort was made to maximise the utility and flexibility of the space. This involved maximising use of vertical and wall space as well as implimenting a modular design system so that the shop could evolve over time.

Website | Online Retail

The website design system was made to reflect the design of the shop. Trying as much as possible to emulate the character and uniquness of the shop expereince online.

Branding | Mark & Stationery

Brand mark and stationery developed by Raquel Damas. Raquel used samples of Anna Feldmans hand writing and refined into the final mark. This was paired beautifully with a typeface and designed into exemplar stationary.

Product Efficacy | Business Launch & Growth

A minimal version of the shop was sucessfully launched in 2014 and then redesigned and enhanced in 2018. The buisness continues to thrive and has become a beloved part of the kniiting comunity.

Although the website design was never implimented the service design, shop interior and design system developed continues to support the buisness and has stood the test of time.
